WSMA Math Bowl from 2012-2013

About WSMA Math Bowl The WSMA Math Bowl, a team-based math competition structured like a quiz bowl, is a fun and interactive contest that students of all mathematical backgrounds will enjoy. The final rounds of the contest are structured as an elimination tournament with teams competing head-to-head with other teams. This contest seeks to break the traditional competitive paradigm by rewarding teamwork above individual ingenuity.

Recommended Grade Range: 6 – 12
Eligibility: Open
Cost: $32 per team of 4 ($5 discount for early registration)
Schedule: 2:30pm – 3:00pm Registration
3:00pm – 3:15pm Opening Remarks and Information
3:15pm – 3:55pm Round 1 – Team Mental Math
4:00pm – 4:45pm Round 2 – Creativity Round
4:50pm – 5:35pm Round 3 – Time Attack
5:40pm – 6:25pm Dinner
6:25pm – 8:40pm Elimination Tournament
8:40pm Awards Ceremony
Food Info: Pizza will be able for pre-order during registration on the day of the contest.
Registration Information: To register, please email mathbowl@wastudentmath.org with the requested information, as directed on the competition webpage.
Other Details: All rounds are completed as teams. Calculators and other aids are NOT allowed on any part of the competition. There are no divisions or distinctions between grade levels.
